The FEILER History

2021

Following the SPRING BREEZE and AUTUMN MOOD collections, the collaboration between tennis legend Stefanie Graf and the traditional textile company FEILER is entering its third and fourth rounds.

DAYLIGHT – the magic of the morning
"The design DAYLIGHT stands for this special and unique atmosphere and light in the morning: Calm, harmonious and full of energy, welcoming the day", says Stefanie Graf about her design for Spring/Summer 2021. "When creating my FEILER designs, I attach particular importance to a harmonious overall picture in the colour gradients."

Radiance, harmony and elegance
Bright white and intense light blue, finely tuned to each other, visually embody the magical radiance of the sky after sunrise.

MOONLIGHT – resting in itself, harmonious and full of nocturnal energy
"The design MOONLIGHT reflects the unique mood that only the mystical and clear glow of the moon can create in a dark night. This unique atmosphere helps us to better understand the wisdom of the moon", says Stefanie Graf about her design for Autumn/Winter 2021.

Shimmering white, now in combination with intense black and exciting shades of grey – finely tuned in the structural curves – embody the magical radiance of the moon at night.

In this way, special textiles of purist elegance and beauty are created – in symbiosis with the high-quality material of the unique FEILER Chenille.

STEFANIE GRAF by FEILER – it's a match!
Stefanie Graf and the traditional family business FEILER have created two exclusive designs that are combining the elegance of the tennis icon together with the uniqueness of the FEILER chenille in a distinctive way.

SPRING BREEZE and AUTUMN MOOD
Stefanie Graf: "This special moment, when you wrap yourself in a cosy, soft chenille towel after a shower or bath, is an extraordinary feeling of well-being for me every time", says Stefanie Graf, explaining her inspiration for "SPRING BREEZE", the Spring/ Summer design 2020. "A pleasant soothing feeling invigorating freshness like a sea breeze, that is where relaxation and regeneration start for me especially after sporting activities. It is that special moment when your body comes into contact with Chenille. And this emotion I wanted to express in the design of this chenille product: A velvety soft breeze and a cuddly effect for all senses."

"My Autumn/Winter design 2020 in collaboration with FEILER is inspired by impressions of moonlight on a water surface“, says Stefanie Graf. „The leisurely flowing pattern fits to the second half of the year, a rather contemplative time in which one reflects on many things. I am always looking forward to the autumn and winter days, where you can enjoy precious moments with family and friends."

The recession in the textile industry does not spare FEILER. The workforce is halved to 65 people. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology FEILER is the only Chenille weaver in Europa to survive this difficult time. In 1982 Erhard Schwedt died at the age of only 55  and the third generation, the siblings Dagmar Schwedt and Dieter Schwedt (Textiling.FH), together with their mother Else Schwedt take over the management, supported by finance director Karl-Heinz Werder. Fortunately, at the end of the decade, increasing demand for FEILER-Chenille is ermerging in faraway Japan. The number of employees is growing again.
