Accessibility Statement

1) Introduction

We are pleased that you are visiting our website and would like to thank you for your interest.
Below you will find information regarding the accessible use of our online services.

We will inform you:

  • what services and functions you can expect on this website,
  • how you can use these services and functions,
  • what options are available to you for accessible use, and
  • which authority is responsible for monitoring accessibility on this website.

2) Services and functions of this website

This website is an online shop for the sale of goods.
Goods in this context refer to physical items.

The website presents goods which can be added to an electronic shopping basket and subsequently ordered and paid for in a binding manner.

This website includes a header menu and a footer menu.
In the header menu, the goods we sell are listed by category and can be accessed individually from there.

Each product is described on its own detail page with further information regarding its essential characteristics, the scope of delivery and the total price. From there, it can be added to the electronic shopping basket.

In addition, the electronic shopping basket can be accessed via the header menu once you have added at least one product. From the basket, the electronic ordering process can be initiated and completed.

In the footer menu, you will find links to our legal notice with our contact details, as well as information on the legal basis of our online services, shipping and payment options, and links to further helpful service pages.

3) Explanations on how to use the services and functions

3.1 Virtual buttons

This website can be operated using virtual buttons.

3.2 Home page, overview pages and product detail pages

On the home page, you will find a selection of available products in the central area of the page. By interacting with a product display, you will be taken to the product detail page.

You can navigate between different product categories using the header menu.
After selecting a category, you will be taken to an overview page where all products in that category are displayed.

By interacting with a product display on the overview page, you will again be taken to the relevant product detail page.

The product detail pages contain all essential information about the product and the total price, and may also include a quantity selection element and an “Add to basket” button.

If available, the desired order quantity can be set using the quantity selection.

3.3 Electronic shopping basket

By clicking the “Add to basket” button, you add the product (in the selected quantity, where applicable) to the electronic shopping basket.

The electronic shopping basket can be accessed at any time via the header menu.
Here you are first able to review the products you have added. Using the relevant buttons, products can be removed again or, where applicable, the order quantity can be changed.

3.4 Electronic ordering process

After reviewing your basket, you can complete the electronic ordering process by interacting with the relevant buttons.

To do so, you will first be asked to enter your contact details (at least your name, email address, and delivery and/or billing address) via an input form.

In the next step, you can choose between the available delivery and/or service options.

Finally, you can select one of the available payment methods, enter the required payment details, and complete the order.

The order is only placed in a binding manner once the designated button on the final order page is clicked. This button is labelled “Buy”, “Buy now”, “Place order with obligation to pay”, or another clear wording.

Before clicking this order button, you can return to the previous steps at any time using your browser’s “Back” button and/or cancel the ordering process at any time.

If you have chosen to pay using an online payment method, you will be redirected from the final order page to the payment provider’s system in order to complete the payment there.

4) Legal requirements regarding accessibility

As an online shop, this website is considered a “service in electronic commerce” and is characterised by an electronic ordering and payment option.

It is therefore subject to specific legal requirements regarding accessibility.

In general, this website must provide functions and procedures that are tailored to the needs of people with disabilities and enable operation using digital assistive technologies.

The online shop functions of this website must be designed to be:

  • perceivable,
  • operable,
  • understandable, and
  • robust.

Perceivability means that the information and components of the online shop are presented in such a way that they can be easily perceived by all users.

Operability requires that the functions of the online shop can also be used by users with limited mobility or cognitive impairments.

Understandability requires that the information and functions of the online shop are logically structured, easy to recognise and clearly labelled.

Robustness ultimately requires that the content and functions of the online shop can be used reliably and without restrictions, even when users employ digital assistive technologies.

If products offered for sale in the online shop are themselves subject to specific accessibility requirements, information on accessible use must be provided for such products where available.

5) Available assistance for accessible use

This website meets the accessibility requirements through the following measures:

  • Alternative text for images: Images in the online shop are provided with alternative text offering a brief description of the image and can be processed by screen readers.
  • Operability via mouse and keyboard: The online shop functions can be operated both by mouse and keyboard. Using keyboard controls, the mouse pointer can be moved and activated within the online shop.
  • Browser-independent page display: The content and functions of this website are available in the same layout, alignment and resolution regardless of the browser used.
  • Cascading Style Sheets (CSS): A programming language is used which separates the presentation of page content (layout, colour and design) from its structural organisation. This enables digital assistive technologies to apply their own visibility schemes in order to display page content.
  • Sufficient spacing between characters: Characters are displayed with sufficient spacing to ensure readability is not impaired.
  • Compatibility with screen readers: The content of the online shop is compatible with all common screen readers and can be read and processed by them.
  • Responsive design (adaptation to different screen sizes): Content, elements and functions automatically adapt in size to the screen being used.
  • Scalability (visibility when enlarged): Page elements and content remain readable in high resolution even when enlarged.
  • High colour contrast: A high contrast between text and background colours is preset to ensure optimal visibility of page elements.
  • Text notices when mandatory fields are not completed: If mandatory input fields are not completed, a text notice is displayed in addition to a colour marking. This notice indicates which information is missing from the input field.
