Our care recommendations for chenille products
How do you wash chenille properly?
Wash before first use
Before use, FEILER chenille products should be washed to achieve maximum absorbency. The fabric is made of 100% cotton and has a loose structure before washing. It will shrink slightly during the first wash, making the chenille material denser and more uniform in appearance. However, this also means that the product will shrink by approximately 10% compared to its initial size.
When washing coloured chenille towels, please make sure to wash them with the same colours, especially the first time, as some colours can still bleed slightly.
Chenille in the washing machine
To wash the chenille hygienically, we recommend a normal wash program at a temperature of 60°C, including a spin cycle. This will remove any lint from the fabric and fix the colors.
Since chenille is a rather loose fabric, care should be taken not to wash it with other garments that have zippers or hooks. This could damage the material.
Wash hairbands in a laundry bag
Our chenille headband can be washed with your laundry without any problems. However, since it is reinforced with wire, we recommend placing the headband in a laundry bag or net for protection.
Fabric softener reduces absorbency
Fabric softener significantly reduces the absorbency of the fibers. Optimal absorbency and fluffiness are achieved by a subsequent gentle cycle in the tumble dryer.
For long-lasting, beautiful and vibrant colors, we recommend using a standard (mild) detergent without optical brighteners or bleach.
Can chenille be tumble dried?
We recommend tumble drying to maintain the fluffiness and comfort of our products. Use a low-temperature program. Of course, chenille can also be air-dried.

Does chenille lint?
It's normal for excess fibers to shed from the soft fabric during the first few washes. This is especially true when using a tumble dryer, but it does not affect the quality of the products.
Cosmetic bags must be cleaned by hand
Chenille cosmetic bags with decorative details, such as zippers and lining, should not be machine washed. They should be hand-washed using a mild detergent and a damp sponge. Afterward, the chenille cosmetic bags can simply be air-dried.
How long can a chenille beauty and face cloths, hand towel, bath towel, etc. be used?
How long you can use a towel or beauty and face cloths will depend on various factors, such as personal hygiene, the type of use, and the care of the textile. The following general recommendations apply:
Beauty and face cloths
Since face cloths can often harbor higher levels of bacteria, it's important to wash them regularly—ideally every 2-3 days. This is because the beauty and face cloths comes into direct contact with skincare products, becomes completely wet, and thus more easily absorbs dirt, oil, and bacteria.
Towel, bath towel, etc.
Even if the chenille towel still looks good and feels fluffy, it should be washed regularly. While chenille generally dries faster than other materials, the constant moisture provides a breeding ground for bacteria and mold. Therefore, it should be changed every 3-4 days.
Care instructions for our terry items
How do you wash terry properly?
Wash before first use
Our terry is made from 100% cotton and has a rather loose weave before washing. Therefore, we recommend washing our terry products before first use. This allows for full absorbency, makes the fabric stronger and more durable, and reduces snagging.
With the products out of our EXCLUSIV range, please also ensure that the first wash is done separately, without any other fabrics. This is a precautionary measure, as the coloured chenille border can bleed, despite the use of highly fast dyes. This is especially true for bold colours, especially vibrant reds. However, these products should normally be fine, as the rinse water will wash out the excess dyes.
Terry in the washing machine
To wash the terry cloth hygienically, we recommend a standard wash cycle at 60°C, including a spin cycle. Make sure to wash colours separately in case any colour residue comes out of the fabric, which can happen especially with bold colours. Since terry is a rather loose, looped fabric, these products should not be washed together with other garments with zippers or hooks. These could damage the material.
If this does happen and you have a thread puller/loop puller, you can simply cut the loop short. If you want to be extra safe, you can tie a knot in both thread ends first.
Fabric softener reduces absorbency
While fabric softener makes terry products softer, it significantly reduces the absorbency of the fibers. To achieve the best fluffiness, a gentle cycle in the tumble dryer is recommended instead.
Use detergent without bleach
For long-lasting, beautiful and vibrant colors, we recommend using a standard (heavy-duty) detergent without optical brighteners or bleach.
Can terry be tumble dried?
We recommend tumble drying to maintain the fluffiness and comfort of our products. Of course, terry cloth can also be air-dried.

How long should towels, bath towels and other terry cloths be used?
The length of time towels can be used varies depending on personal hygiene habits, frequency of use, and care of the material.
Here are general guidelines:
Even if a terry cloth towel appears to be in good condition, it should be washed regularly. The moisture that remains in the towel after each use can lead to a buildup of bacteria and mold. For this reason, it is recommended to replace towels every 3-4 days.
